Fans, parents, and hundreds of students piled onto the football field to see the Hopatcong Chiefs take on the Morris Catholic Crusaders at home, as well as the results of the Homecoming Court on October 19, 2012. Seniors, Stephen Duncan and Alyssa Brown were named king and queen as the Chiefs beat the Crusaders 31-0. Johann Lara and Belle Ward won the title for the junior class. Tobi Olugbenga and Barbara Ortiz won the crown for the sophomores, while Bobby Juliano and Megan Donnelly won the award for the freshmen.
Two key players for the Chiefs were Running Backs, Johann Lara and Wyatt Gehring. Both players secured two touchdowns for the Chiefs while, Lara stepped up and ran for 91 yards and Gehring for 51 yards. With the Chiefs win, their record increased to 4-3, giving them a shot in the State tournament.
