In coach Jamie Figliolino` s first softball season, the Chiefs were (3-3) heading into their home game against Parsippany last Tuesday afternoon. Up to bat with one out remaining, Junior Victoria Gehring hit a triple, and with Parsippany making a throwing error, it allowed Gehring to score and tie the game at four.
The Chiefs’ relief pitcher, Junior Sam Kufta (2-2), came in clutch with only allowing 2 hits and striking out 4 batters in three innings on the hill, giving her the win.
Senior, Hannah Bibeault started off the bottom of the extra inning with a single and followed by stealing second base to put herself in scoring position. Hon came to the plate and singled through the middle which brought home Bibeault. This capped off a stunning 3 run deficit in extra innings.
