The Chiefs were led by senior Shea Bongiovanni’s four touchdown effort and his 105 yard rushing yards on the ground, with help from junior Jake Dorman’s 77 yards and sophomore Jake Wilkerson’s 64 yards.
Senior Jonathan Yanko had his first touchdown of the year with a 55-yard pick off Butler in the second quarter to all but lock up the victory for the Chiefs. Wilkerson also had a big interception that Bongiovanni picked up for one of his four TD’ S on the night.
Hopatcong finished with four offensive TDs and three defensive scores.
The Chiefs look for their fourth win of the year Saturday at Morristown-Beard, a win that could put them back about the .500 mark and continue their pursuit of a playoff spot.
Also, celebrated at the Hopatcong / Butler game, was an HHS “Pinkout” in honor of breast cancer research. All money was donated to the American Cancer Society and Breast Cancer Awareness.
